After almost ten years, Mitsubishi Motors announces its return to the European B-segment with the new generation Mitsubishi Colt five-door station wagon, which will go on sale in 2023.

The new Mitsubishi Colt will significantly increase Mitsubishi Motors' market coverage in European core segments to compete with Mitsubishi Space Star, the recently announced new Mitsubishi ASX, and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV. The new passenger car line-up from 2023 will thus consist of station wagons and SUVs and includes electrified drivelines.

The Mitsubishi Colt name was first used in 1962 and had a rich heritage that has adorned several generations of mainly compact models worldwide and has become one of Mitsubishi's most famous names in the process. The latest generation, also produced in Europe, sold over 400,000 units in the region between 2004 and 2014.

The new Mitsubishi Colt will offer a complete equipment package, including the latest technology and a wide range of powertrains. It will be produced at Renault's Bursa plant in Turkey. Like the new generation ASX, the COLT will be based on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance CMF-B platform.

Frank Krol, President & CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Europe:

"The addition of the new Mitsubishi Colt and the new Mitsubishi ASX announced earlier will dramatically increase our customer offering in 2023, along with Mitsubishi Space Star and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV. Mitsubishi Motors has a long history in the B-segment. The Mitsubishi Colt name is synonymous with that - we look forward to writing a new chapter in Mitsubishi Colt history and for the Mitsubishi Motors brand in Europe. "
